Ken H. Lester, Senior Partner

Ken H. Lester has offices in Columbia, Myrtle Beach/Conway area, and Beaufort/Hilton Head Island area, South Carolina. He received his B.S. and J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina.
- He is a Diplomat in the American College of Family Trial Lawyers, an organization limited to the top 100 family court trial lawyers in the United States.
- He is a fellow in the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers which is made up of approximately 960 lawyers worldwide. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and served as President of the South Carolina chapter. The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers consists of 1,700 of the top matrimonial attorneys in the United States and Canada.
- Mr. Lester is on the faculty of the Houston Family Law Trial Institute which is held for nine (9) days each year at the South Texas College of Law in downtown Houston, Texas where 48 lawyers from across the United States are taught to try family law cases. South Texas College of Law is nationally known for its award winning trial advocacy program and has won more trial advocacy awards than any other law school in the United State of America.
- Mr. Lester served as the Chairman of the Family Law Section of the South Carolina Bar and served as the Section Delegate to the South Carolina Bar House of Delegates.
- He served as Chairman of the Family Law Committee of the South Carolina Association of Justice and is currently a member of the South Carolina Association of Justice where he has served on the Board.
- He is also former Chairman of the Richland and Lexington County Bar Family Law Committees.
- He also taught the Family Law portion of the South Carolina Bar Review course which is taught twice each year to lawyers preparing for the South Carolina Bar exam.
- Mr. Lester is the former Chairman of the South Carolina Child Support Guidelines Sub-committee and has served on all of the update committees.
- Mr. Lester has written and continues to write on various issues dealing with South Carolina Family Law in addition to speaking, and coordinating numerous Continuing Legal Education and Judicial Continuing Legal Education Seminars locally and nationally.
- Mr. Lester served as the chairman of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Children Committee and served as a member on the five members Same-Sex Marriage Committee of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He was a member of the American Bar Association Same-Sex Marriage Committee and Products Development Committee. He is the author of the Chapter on Protection of Marriage by Statute and Constitutions on the American Bar Associations White Paper on Same-Sex issues.
Mr. Lester routinely serves as a mediator in complex custody or financial cases in the Family Court.
Catherine S. Hendrix, Partner

Catherine Smith Hendrix is a partner in the office of Lester & Hendrix with offices in Columbia, Myrtle Beach, and Beaufort/Hilton Head, South Carolina. Catherine divides her time mainly between the Columbia office and the Myrtle Beach office. She received her B.A. in 1981 from the College of Charleston, majoring in Political Science. Mrs. Hendrix worked as a domestic paralegal for 10 years prior to attending law school. She graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2000. In 2005 she completed the American Bar Association Family Law Advocacy Institute in Houston, Texas which is a nine (9) day intensive Trial Advocacy course to improve trial skill of attorneys. She is a member of the South Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, and the Richland, Fairfield and Horry County Bar Associations.
Mrs. Hendrix is active in the profession, routinely participating in continuing education seminars speaking to both attorneys and paralegals. She is currently serving as the Family Law Section Chair for the South Carolina Association for Justice while also serving on the Board. Mrs. Hendrix serves as the Convention Vice Chairman for the South Carolina Association of Justice. She is currently serving on the Solo and Small Firm Section Council of the South Carolina Bar.
Mrs. Hendrix is a certified mediator for the State of South Carolina.
Anthony J. Charles, Associate

Anthony J. Charles is an associate in the law office of Lester & Hendrix with offices in Columbia, Myrtle Beach, and Beaufort/Hilton Head, South Carolina. Anthony received his B.A. in 2004 from the University of South Carolina, with a major in Political Science. He graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2008. Also in 2008 he completed his Master’s Degree (M.S.E.L.) from Vermont Law School in the Study of Environmental Law and Policy.
Mr. Charles is a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, the South Carolina Bar Association, the South Carolina Association for Justice, Richland County Bar and Lexington County Bar.
